The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas released on Tuesday a family of new banknotes that have small changes in design and security improvements with respect to the current ones. They carry the signature of the new President of the Bank Nestor Espenilla Jr.

The changes are as follows:

20 piso (PHP20.3)   Format of the scientific names and the size of the font of the year mark in the back are changed. 

50 piso (PHP50.3)   Format of the scientific names and the size of the font of the year mark in the back are changed.  “October 1944” added to “Leyte Landing”.

100 piso (PHP100.4)   Format of the scientific names and the size of the font of the year mark in the back are changed.

200 piso (PHP200.3)   Format of the scientific names and the size of the font of the year mark in the back are changed.  Images in the front are changed, especially those depicting the Declaration of Philippine Independence and Opening of the Malolos Congress.

500 piso (PHP500.3)   Format of the scientific names and the size of the font of the year mark in the back are changed.

1,000 piso (PHP1,000.3)   Format of the scientific names and the size of the font of the year mark in the back are changed.  Image of Order of Lakandula and the phrase “MEDAL OF HONOR” deleted
