Abdolnaser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented today a new Iranian Cheque of 1 million rials (IRR1,000,000.3).

He commented that the last four zeros of the denomination are printed in a lighter color, to impress on the public that the incoming currency re-denomination will cut out four zeros, with one “new toman” being equal to 10,000 old rials, or 1,000 old toman.
