Banco de Guatemala presented today its new banknote of 1 quetzal commemorative of the Centennial of the quetzal (GTQ1.6.) 

The quetzal was established in 1924 at the rate of 60 pesos. For many years it has been at par with the U.S. dollar.

The new note is printed on paper substrate, and will be available in September.
