Croatia starts using euros as of today 1 January 2023. Kuna banknotes and coins remain legal tender up to 14 January 2023. After that date these may be exchanged for euros at the rate of 7.54129 kuna per euro.

There is no time limit for their redemption.

Local banks received stocks of euro notes and coins since several months ago, and citizens were able to buy packs of sample coins in December.
