During a speech on AzTV Elman Rustamov, chairman of the Central Bank, said that these are their themes.
1 manat (AZN1.3) Azerbaijani culture,
5 manat (AZN5.3) Azerbaijani literature,
10 manat (AZN10.3) Azerbaijani history,
20 manat (AZN20.2) Karabakh,
50 manat (AZN50.2) Education and the future,
100 manat (AZN100.3) Economy and growth,
200 manat (AZN200.2) Modern Azerbaijan.
The helmet, sword and shield depicted in front of the 20 manat banknote are the symbols of honor, zeal and pride of the Azerbaijani people. The nightingale is a symbol of Shusha, Azerbaijan’s cultural cradle. The symbol of the back is the Karabakh carpet. The 20 manat banknote is fully dedicated to the Karabakh issue.
