Numerous sources report popular support for a 10 pesos note with the image of the recently deceased football player Diego Armando Maradona.
While the idea of honoring Maradona for his stellar career may be worthy of consideration, the denomination chosen – 10 pesos – does not seem to be practical, as it is only worth six U.S, cents at the “blue” dollar rate, which is the approximate cost of printing the note. That value of 10 pesos would be symbolic of his number in the jersey he used in the historic World Cup game of 1986
