Banque d’Algérie will issue next week two polymer commemorative banknotes of 2,000 dinars.

The first one (DZD2,000.2) commemorates the 60th Anniversary of Algeria’s Independence and the 31st Summit of the Organization of Arab States, which will take place on November 1 and 2 in Algiers.

Its size is 155 x 71.8 mm, with bluish green dominant color in front and yellowish green on back.

The note’s format is vertical, showing the front the Martyr’s Memorial, the map of the Arab World and the logo of the Arab League, and the map of Algeria in a window.

The back has the minaret of the Mosque of Algeria, the Hoggar mountains, the Roman ruins of Tipaza, a palm tree and a caravan of dromedaires

The second one (DZD2,000.3)  celebrates the 60th Anniversary of Algeria’s Independence.

Its size is also 155 x 71.8 mm, with bluish green dominant color in front and yellowish green on back. It is similar to the previous one, but it omits the reference to the Arab League.

Both new bAnknotes have the value expressed also in English.
