You saw it here first…

Wilfredo Cerrato, President of the Banco Central de Honduras, announced yesterday that details of the new banknote of 200 lempiras (HNL200.1) will be made public in July, and that it will be released to circulation in September, on the occasion of the Bicentennial of Independence.

The note will be different from the pictures circulating in the social media, which reflect the general idea of the design, but not its definitive version.

While the note commemorates the Bicentennial of Independence, it will not be of limited issue. Rather it will be part of the regular family of denominations.
