According to articles published in the last days in several Yemeni newspapers a shipment of new banknotes of 2,000 riyals (YER2,000.1) has arrived to the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden. These notes will probably be issued next year.

This is a photograph of the purported note, which may not be the real thing, as the serial number has only 6 digits. Most serial numbers in recent Yemeni banknotes have 7 digits.
