It has been reported that no more coins are  being supplied for the denominations of 5 and 10 rubles. Now they are supplied to commerce in banknote form.

This seems to be a direct consequence of the Russian war on Ukraine, because the cost of keeping low value banknotes in circulation is much higher than that for coins, when the much longer life of coins is being factored, Obviously the supply of metals has been affected by the war.
