On 30 July Vanuatu is celebrating its 40 Years of Independence. Simeon Malachi Athy, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu, announced last week the Bank will celebrate the event with the release of 1,000 vatu polymer banknote overprinted with a commemorative logo.
