The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued on 26 August its new banknotes of 5,000 sum (UZS5,000.2) and 10,000 sum (UZS10,000.2).

The note of 5,000 som (142 x 69 mm) shows in the front the Madrasah of Sherdor in Samarkand, and in the back the archeological site of Agrosiyob and ancient local pottery.

That of 10,000 som (147 x 69mm) has in the front the Madrasah of Ki’Kaldosh, and in the back the archeological site of Shoshtepa and ancient local pottery.

The main theme of the notes is “The Silk Road”. Both are dated 2021.
