Uzbekistan’s Central Bank announced today that it will issue on 15 July 2022 a new 200,000 sum banknote (UZS200,000.1).

It will carry motifs related to the ancient Silk Road and the Ferghana Valley.

This denomination was originally planned for issue in 2024, but shortage of cash and long queues at ATMs seem to have speeded up the process.
