In todays regular meeting The Board of Directors of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank decided, among other items, to approve its third family of banknotes under the theme of  “Year of the 50th” to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Creation of the United Arab Emirates in December of 1971. After independence from Britain, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujayrah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain came together as the United Arab Emirates Federation (UAE).
