According to postings in Turkish social media the release of banknotes of 500 and 1,000 Turkish lira is being proposed. At present 200 lira (TRY200.1) (=USD22.60) is the largest denomination in use.
It has also been proposed the replacement for coins of banknotes of 5 (TRY5.2/3) and 10 lira (TRY10.2), worth 28 and 56 U.S cents respectively.
