The Bank of Thailand is planning to issue in November a new family of notes with the portrait of the new king, Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, known as King Vajiralongkorn, who assumed the throne in 2016 upon the death of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
