According to several sources citizens in Switzerland will vote on a referendum for a constitutional amendment to guarantee the use of cash.

Faced with a tendency in many countries to force credit card and electronic payments over cash the Swiss want to make sure that its use will not be restricted.

Cash is widely used in Switzerland for all payments, large or small. A merchant will not object to the purchase of a small item paid with a 200 francs note (= USD257,00.)
