The Central Bank of the Solomon Islands has introduced a new $100 banknote with the IGNITE® security thread.
While having enhanced security, the updated $100 banknote retains its celebrated rural life theme. The note highlights the coconut as a major source of income for rural communities throughout the Solomon Islands. On the front, abstract pattern work represents the swirling movement of shoals of fish, while the reverse depicts rural livelihoods and the social and economic activities that help sustain communities across the country.
The updated $100 featuring the introduction of the IGNITE security thread reflects the Central Bank’s continued commitment to maintaining a secure, trusted and resilient currency for the people of Solomon Islands.
