Sergei Belov, Deputy Chairman of Bank Rossiya, said that the new banknotes of 1,000 rubles (RUB1,000.4) and 5,000 rubles (RUB5,000.3) will be issued in mid 2023.
The upgraded banknotes will feature improved designs and high wear resistance, and will be protected from falsification.
