Current banknotes of 5 riyals (QAR5.4) with a “private” fantasy overprint of what looks somewhat like the mascot of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ applied on the watermark area of the front are being offered in the market. These are being offered on Ebay by a Chinese source.

The only official commemorative banknote is the one of 22 riyals (QAR22.1) issued by the Qatar Central Bank.
