The Banco Central de Reserva del Perú has unveiled today its new banknotes of 10 soles (PEN10.4) and 100 soles (PEN100.5).
These are dated 21 March 2019 and show singer Chabuca Granda and Pedro Paulet, diplomat and inventor.
While these notes were announced as commemorative of the Bicentennial of Peruvian Independence, their issue date seems not to have any connection to the Independence date, which is considered to be 28 July 1821.
