The Central Bank of Syria announced yesterday 26 July 2026 the withdrawal from circulation of its older banknotes effective this Thursday 30 July 2026. 

After that date the older notes may be redeemed for five years until 30 July 2031. Requests for the redemption of less than 100 notes, which can be of mixed denominations, will not be accepted. Payment will be made by transfer to the beneficiary’s bank account.
