The Government of Nepal has decided that in new banknotes of 100 rupees (MRI100.8B) the map in the background on the front will show the contentious areas of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani.
India maintains that these areas belong to it, and does not recognize the decision, which it called a “unilateral act.”
