Nepal Rastra Bank has started issuing new “Series 2025” banknotes.

While these are somewhat similar to the previous ones, they are more colorful and with added security features. The higher values include diagonal marks printed on high relief to help people with restricted vision to recognize the different denominations.

So far notes of 50 (NPR50.7) and 100 rupees (NPR100.9) have been issued of 18 September 2026 and those of 1,000 rupees (NPR1,000) today 24 September 2026. 

Notably, Nepal has moved forward with printing its revised political map which incorporates the territories of Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, and Kalapani in all the new notes.
