A design purported to be a future 50,000 ariary banknote showing a chameleon has been published in the social media. There are doubts about its authenticity. The OVI seal at top center left is similar to the one found in the current 5,000 ariary banknotes (MGA5,000.2), which indicates that it is a collage created by some artist.

The posting also mentions a 100,000 ariary banknote showing a crab.
