The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced today 25 December 2023 the release of its new banknote of 5,000 tengé (KZ5,000.6) of the “SAKA” family.

These notes will enter circulation tentatively in March 2024, to allow delivery to all regions and updated of ATMs and cash processing equipment.

The banknotes of previous issues will cease to be legal tender one year after the release of each new denomination, and be redeemable at banks and post offices for three years afterwards.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan will redeem them without time limit.
