The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued recently a new “Iran Cheque” in the denomination of 5 million rials (IRR5,000,000.1) equal to 500 new toman. It is the first “Iran Cheque” of this value issued by the Central Bank, although there are several issued by commercial banks. It is equivalent to USD4.87 at the informal rate of exchange.

Its front shows the Agha Bozorg Mosque in Kashan, with the Mausoleum of poet Ferdowsi in the back.
