Dr. Louncény Nabé, Governor of the Banque Central de la République de Guinée, announced in late March that new banknotes of 2,000 francs (GNF2,000.1) and coins of 100 francs will be issued soon. The banknotes may be ready for circulation towards the end of the year, or in early 2019.
