Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, announced today a new family of notes, the “Heritage Series” to be released on 3 November 2026.

The new series will have advanced security features, improved durability and modern designs that reflect Ghana’s heritage, culture and national identity.

They will also portrait Ghanaian national heroes.

Notes of the current series will continue to be legal tender.
