According to unconfirmed reports the Central Bank of Egypt is discussing to replace polymer instead of cotton paper for the printing of all their banknotes, the replacement of 5 pounds notes for coins and the possible issue of a larger banknote of 500 Egyptian pounds (= USD 25).
As for the new polymer 10 pound notes (EGP10.6) it has been noted that they lack the customary blind friendly marks. The Central Bank seems to be studying a solution to this problem.
