Eastern Caribbean Central Bank unveiled today the designs of its new banknotes without the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse design of the current notes will be maintained.
The $5 banknote (XCD5.7) features Robert Milton Cato, former Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenadian Olympic medalist Sir Kirani James.
The $10 banknote (XCD10.7) features William Henry Bramble, first Chief Minister of Montserrat, and James Ronald Webster, former Chief Minister of Anguila.
The $20 banknote (XCD20.7) features Sir Vere Cornwall Bird Sr., first Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and Dame Mary Eugenia Charles, former Prime Minister of Dominica from 1980 to 1995, first and only woman Prime Minister in the Eastern Caribbean.
The $50 banknote (XCD50.7) features Sir K. Dwight Venner, former Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (1989–2015 and Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, former Chief Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The $100 banknote (XCD100.7) features Nobel laureate in economic sciences Sir William Arthur Lewis, and Sir John George Melvin Compton, first Prime Minister of St.Lucia.
