The three points open for the redemption of the Danish banknotes that will be demonetized at the end of May will be open on Sunday 31st May 2026 from 10 am to 2 pm. That will be the last chance to redeem these notes.

Danmarks Nationalbank has made it relatively difficult to redeem many older notes and the then current ones of 1000 kroner by setting only three points of exchange in Copenhagen, Aarus and Odense, where exchange must be made in person, and only by the interested party. Obviously workers and persons of modest means or physically handicapped holding small amounts could not afford to lose wages or have expenses perhaps higher than the value of the notes to be redeemed.

The redemption conditions require presentation in person, which is very onerous for foreign holders, especially if they do not have an amount large enough to justify a trip to Denmark.
