Danmarks National Bank published today a series of measures that relate to current and future banknotes. These are:

1. All the banknotes issued from 1944 to 2008 will cease to be legal tender as of 31 May 2025. 
2. The notes of 1,000 kroner of the Bridge series of 2009 will also cease to be legal tender as of 31 May 2025.
3. All these notes will be redeemable afterward.
4. Banknotes of a design with new motifs will be issued in 2028-29.
