Banco Central de Cuba announced today the issue of two new banknotes in the denominations of 10,000 pesos (CUP10,000.1) and 20,000 pesos (CUP20,000.1) equivalent to approximately 24 and 48 dollars respectively.

The 10,000 pesos note shows the portrait of Revolutionary fighter Haydée Santamaría Cuadrado in the front and Casa de las Américas building in the back.  The one of 20,000 pesos has the portrait of Vilma Espín Guillois, President of the Federation of Cuban Women in the front and her with a group of members of the Federation.

The notes are in circulation now, and will be arriving gradually to provincial branches.
