The Banque Centrale du Congo has announced that it will issue a new family of notes in two tranches.

In August it will release the denominations of 500 (CDF500.3), 1,000 (CDF1,000.2) and 5,000 francs (CDF5,000.2); with higher values to follow in 2019.

These new banknotes will have advanced security devices, and will co-circulate along with the existing ones.
