The National Bank of Cambodia has announced on 25 September the issue of improved banknotes of 50,000 riel (KHR50,000.4) and 100,000 riel (KHR100,000.3.) 

Both notes have some design changes with respect to the previous ones, as well as stronger security features. Their respective sizes are 155 x 72 mm and 170 x 75 mm.

Prior notes continue to be legal tender.
