Bank of Botswana announced today that the new banknote of 50 pula (BWP50.5) announced on 15 August 2025 will be issued on 6 February 2026.

It is a limited issue which honors the Olympic team led by Letsile Tegobo which won the Silver Medal for 4 x 400 relay team in the Paris Games of 2024, and also shows the Motswedi diamond.
