These well circulated banknotes of 10,000; 20,000 and 50,000 Somali shilin were presented for exchange to a currency dealer in Spain.
It is not clear whether these are already in circulation in Somalia, or if they are being issued by some warlord.
They seem to be professionally designed and produced, printed on watermarked paper with segmented security thread.
