The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus announced that it will present its new improved banknotes of 5 (BYN5.1B) and 10 rubliëi (BYN10.1B) on 20 May. These will be issued as the stocks of the 2009 notes are depleted.

The new banknotes will be enhanced by an additional watermark and more broadly protective filaments.

It excludes the Chairman of the Board signature in the front of the banknote, and provides the name of the architectural structures, which have been updated.

The new banknotes, printed by Goznak, are dated 2019.

Equally improved notes of 20 (BYN20.1B) and 50 rubliëi (BYN50.1B) are planned for release in 2020.
