The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has announced that it is redesigning its ZIG banknotes to improve their quality and durability.

The original ZIG notes, released in April last year only in the 10 (ZWG10.1) and 20 (ZWG20.1) denominations, are prone to wear and tear. The redesigned notes will have enhanced security devices to combat counterfeiting.
