The Bank of Zambia has informed today, 11 February 2025, that it will issue on 31 March 2025 a new family of notes, which will include for the first time the denominations of 200 and 500 kwacha.

The notes to be issued are:

ZMW10.4  10 kwacha

ZMW20.4  20 kwacha

ZMW50.5  50 kwacha

ZMW100.4  100 kwacha

ZMW200.1  200 kwacha

ZMW500.1  500 kwacha

All have in the front the African Fish Eagle. The back shows a different waterfall for each denomination and local fauna and trees.

Previous notes continue to be in circulation until new notice.
