As the date for the issue of the new banknotes denominated in bolívares soberanos is nearing, there are no signs to indicate that these have arrived to Venezuela.
Due to the continuous deterioration of the value of the bolívar, which was trading yesterday at around 3,600,000 per US dollar in the free market, a complete set of the new banknotes is worth only 26 U.S.cents, which seems to be about half of the printing cost.
