The Central Bank of The Bahamas announced yesterday 29 January 2025 that it will issue on 3 February 2025 an improved banknote of 1 dollar (BSD1.5B.)

The new banknote is dated 2024, and is similar to the one dated 2017 (BSD1.5A), but it has the following improvements:

1. Colors are more vibrant, to avoid confusion with the note of 10 dollars of the same family (BSD10.6),
2. The security thread in the back is slightly wider,
3. It is printed on Giesecke+Devrient Hybrid Green Banknote substrate, which has notable ecological advances
