The Central Bank of the Republic of China announced of Friday 27 March 2026 that it will retain the denominations of 200 and 2,000 yuan in the new family of notes that is being prepared.

Their MRI identifiers will be TWD200.2 and TWD2,000.2.

The theme of the new family will be “The Beauty of Taiwan.”

The Central Bank estimates that the new banknotes will be issued in 2028.
