The Central Bank of Syria has issued a modified banknote of 50 Syrian pound (SYP50.5B) similar to the one dated 2009. This one has four light olive rhombuses added on the back .
They are dated 2021 and printed by Goznak in the Russian Federation.
It is hard to understand why a note of such low denomination is being issued. Its value at the official rate is 2 U.S. cents, and half of it at the informal market.
