Hussein Junghi, new director of the Central Bank of Sudan, declared that the old banknotes of 50 pounds (SDG50.2) will be withdrawn from circulation “during the coming period”.
New notes (SDG50.3) were issued in June 2018, and both circulate together now. In fact Sudan is experiencing a scarcity of currency in circulation, which has been partly solved by the recent release of new 100 (SDG100.1) and 200 dinars banknotes (SDG200.1).
