The Central Bank of South Sudan informed yesterday 13 June 2024 that it will issue a new banknote of 1,000 South Sudan pounds (SSP1,000.2).
While the design and characteristics of the new note are similar to the previous notes of 1,000 South pounds (SSP1,000.1), the currency name has been changed from “South Sudanese pounds” to “South Sudan Pounds.”
This is the first of a new series, and it is expected that other denominations will follow.
