John Mushayavanhu, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, has informed that an improved version of the family of banknotes of the ZiG family will be placed in circulation on 7 April.

The improved notes to be issued in April are those of 10 ZiG (ZWL10.2,) 20 ZiG (ZWL20.2) and 50 ZiG (ZWL50.2.)

The improved versions of 100 ZiG (ZWL100.2) and 200 ZiG (ZWL200.2) will be issued at a later date.

The original versions of 1; 2; 5; 50; 100 and 200 ZiG will not be issued. Those already issued of 10 and 20 ZiG from 2024 which were judged as being of low quality will be retired as they are paid in at commercial banks.
