Yesterday, 4 January 2023, in a meeting in Mogadishu chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barr the Central Bank of Somalia called again for the printing of new banknotes.

Images of new banknotes to be issued were published in 2019, and in 2022 the Somalian government was in talks with international organizations to obtain help to print them.
