Central Bank Governor Bashir Isse Ali told the media on Thursday that the new notes that are being planned will be issued in denominations of 1,000 (SOS1,000.2); 2,000 (SOS2,000.1); 5,000 (SOS5,000.1); 10,000 (10,000.1) and 20,000 (SOS20,000.1) shillings. Smaller notes as well as a 50,000 shillings denomination are also being considered.
